Hi
I am plning/hoping on moving to Fuengirola in Spet. I am eager to find work however beofre i make the move. I have very basic Spanish but am hopinh to improve this before I move over. Any advice on where to begin looking for employment? I have a BA (Hons) degree in Hotel and Tourism Managment and have 4 years experience working in offices
Any advice would be very welcome!!

Sorry its taken so long to reply.

The main places to look are the on line agency's, local papers and internet forums.

Papers like the round town news I believe carry jobs classifieds

I mention internet forums, on here we have two places jobs get listed.
One is done by feeds from a couple of jobs agency's, so as soon as they post new jobs vacancies, with in a few hours they are listed on here

We also have a free section for employers to post jobs vacancies

And a place for people to post their details in a hope that an employer will find them

We are starting to get employers looking to fill jobs vacancies and employment agency's start to use the free classifieds, so it is worth checking on a regular basis.

I am also working heavily in the back ground on here promoting the forum and all the web sites that lead to it through the search engines. So with any luck we should start to get more jobs vacancies start appearing.

I remember talking to one guy who said when he first came to Spain, he leaned one phrase in Spanish, which was "I am looking for work". He said it got him a job and several year later, through mixing with all the nationalities, he could speak several languages fluently.

The best paper for jobs is Sur in English, you can see them online at: surinenglish.com

However, around 70% of them are sales jobs where you call mugs up from all over, all day long, trying to sell them some piece of crap flat or spurious financial product at vastly inflated prices.
The other 20% are bar jobs in some greasy spoon/dirty glass that will soon be closing down. 5% for 'jobs' in massage parlors and brothels. The remaining 5% look real-ish.

Anyway, if you're open minded and want to be your own boss; there appears to be a huge demand for sexual services of every kind imaginable around here. The 'Adult Relaxation' section in Sur in English is second only in column inches to the 'house for sale' section (yes, property is bombing here now).

There's more, but the ads have finished so I'm back to the telly........

There will be a load of unemployed bulldozer drivers soon if things start to pan out the way they look like they are going.

No doubt the expats will get blamed for that. They cant make all the houses legal or their latest job creation plan will hit a flaw
