Post Number 2 | Its way past the demolition stage now in Catral.
Two years ago, things looked uncertain with the wait on the next visit from the police and another letter to be signed for. Believe me that was not a good stage to be at for anyone no matter how old or young they were. We went to stage three of the demolition orders, some never even entered the system.
Catral town hall lost its planning permission a year or two ago under the previous mayor and has not regained it as yet.
Drainage systems wont be much of an issue on the houses here since most rely on cesspits, which might need to be changed for an approved type, plus there is talk of a sewage system being added to some areas of Catral.
But two or three years on and the future holds a lot of promise and hope for those caught up in it. Instead of talk of demolition for most home owners, its now the wait for news of costs of going legal.
I believe one member on here posted news from a recent meeting he had at the town hall, where he was told that there are only a few remaining houses that are not on the new town plan.
If your determined to move to the area, you have two choices, rent a place until everything settles down or take a chance and buy while the houses are cheap.
Rumours are that the houses should start being made legal in anything from 1 to 2 years
