Catral muggings and burglaries, be warned and careful

 

I have heard that there has been a rising spate of burglaries and muggings in Catral.

One person was mugged for 4000 euro shortly after leaving the bank

Another recent case happened when a person was getting out of their car.
Another car drew up as the driver opened his car door, stopping so the car door could not be shut. Four men reportedly then mugged the driver

Be vigilant at all times.
If your on foot, keep an eye out for anyone watching you of following you
When you park your car, check and recheck before getting out the car
When your driving, again check in case your being followed
If you have a car pull up behind you when you get home, do not get out the car to open your gate

If you witness any crime, do not be seen taking any notes, IE car registration number

Be on your look out for any suspicious cars etc in your area.
We had a car park down our lane and it soon sped off as soon as the dogs alerted us it was there.
There has since been two houses broken into, in the last two weeks.

One the house was empty with nothing in it. Back door popped open
Second house was recently purchased, the shutter and window forced open.

Both these houses are easily seen from houses will full time residents and no one heard a thing.

 

This has now gone from bad to worse.

The car seen in the area about the same time the burglaries kicked off has been back again. One night spotted driving down the road with its lights off after dark.

One house that was done a couple of weeks ago has had another visit. This time in broad daylight about 4pm in the afternoon
They took the widow grill off and used it as a ladder to gain access to the house

The car to look out for, which we believe is involved in the break ins is a dark blue four door Mercedes with a lot of light coloured filler on the near side rear wheel arch

I am new on here and I have read all your warnings about robberies etc. I live in Catral/Dolores. I dont know if It would be of any help but I have a list of the up to date symbols the theives are using at the moment. I have these because I run a rental agency in the area and I am always washing them off or painiting over them for clients. If you want them let me know and I can send them to you. If you can put them on here it may make people more aware of something they never noticed before. Most people think these symbols are just graffitti or from the water companies ets..... but they do have a sinister meaning..........especially when I see signs that say children are at home in the afternoon it makes my blood boil!.
Any way let me know and i will send them if you want them tomorrow.(they are on another pc!)

Are you seeing a lot of break ins in the area or is it just spats when the wrong people are about?
