An article in this weeks Costa Blanca News, has news of home owners of illegal houses in Dolores receiving demolition orders.

Article
Quote:
BRITISH residents in Dolores face huge fines and the demolition of their properties on the orders of the town hall.

They told CBNews they do not want their identities published in case the local authorities become prejudiced against their cases.

According to municipal documentation the houses were built on rustic land and cannot be legalised.

The homeowners insist despite going through lawyers and notaries they never knew the houses were illegal and would not have bought them if they had.

"Three months after purchasing the property we were notified in writing from Dolores town hall that our house and pool were illegal," explained their spokesman.

"After visiting the town hall to discuss this situation no more action was taken
Source of article

The full news article goes on to say that the home owners are facing heavy fines and being asked to demolish the houses themselves.

Having been through similar and seeing the effects that can be caused to family members first hand through the stress that this causes, my heart goes out to all who are involved in this

I heard another story last night which was one resident in Catral who had received 5 demolition orders and had been to court for two appeals.

We were at stage three when they put a hold on the proceedings.

We know a few people in Dolores, but no one knows anything about the people affected there.

Just to let everyone know, that Dolores Town Hall are still pursuing some illegal houses. They are still asking for fines to be paid and for the house to be demolished as well. Some illegal houses, where the fines have been paid by the builders are not being pursued at present for demolition, this may follow if they stick to the current policy of the fine being paid and then a demolition order. Catral has not set a president to them, it might as well be on another planet.

I would request that everyone in any type of 'illegal home' in Dolores, whether they are being threaten by the Town Hall or not assist with any campaign which can help us all from the potential events the Town Hall may throw at us all. Thank You

Have you got any more details on your group or individuals fighting this please David

For example meeting places where your discussing what your doing to stand against this.

Any actions, marches, demonstrations your doing.

As with Catral, I will help you guys as much as I can here and back you all the way. Might as well gain another town hall keeping an eye on whats being said on here and any other legal types

Okay, as this is the 'Catral, Dolores and Almoradi Forum', I propose we take the time and space to consider our neighbours in Dolores and Almoradi. Are there any members from these two towns? I am not aware of any problems (there will undoubtedly be some, I'm just not aware of them) in Almoradi, but we probably all know, by now, that many in Dolores are in a similar situation to those of us in Catral - with the added complication of the infamous golf course project. I know that some of those people feel alone and forgotten. They appear to be more dispersed than those of us here in Catral and, as far as I know, they have no representative group. Does anyone know anybody with property problems in Dolores? To begin with, can we at least encourage them to look in on the forum?

Oops! Don't know where I was, then? Not a very active member. Very surprising that there is not much participation from those in Dolores.
