I know the road well as we nearly bought a house down there. A white one set back from the lane with an olive grove.

yes we have seen the architect he was the one that gave us the good news. The course will be at the end of vereda la roldaina, its just fields at the moment. We were told we would get a plot on the course and enough compensation to allow us to build a house roughly the same spec as ours, but if the course does come off we will be infrastructure,so where do we go while we wait for the housing plots. Like i said we have nothing in writing, and with San Joses reputation for land grab its quite worrying.

The mayor has said that this is a legitimate project and not land grab, but with most of the houses involved being illegal (including ours we have just been informed) can you honestly see San Jose paying any kind of compensation? they havent got the reputation of being either understanding or generous.

Well you seem to have a bunch of problems there.

Do you have a fairly new house? I think most of the newer ones in Catral and Dolores are a touch illegal, aren't they?

You have a real point on the fact that you will probably be homeless for a year or so even if they do compensate you. I suppose you would have to rent which isn't an option if you're not earning.

I really feel for you and you're entitled to a moan.

Your prayers have been answered by the sounds of it Jan.

According to a news article in a local paper they have voluntarily applied for stoppage of payments through the Spanish courts. This is a way of them being able to carry on trading and gain financial backing and investors do not lose all their money.

They are also rumoured to have had problems obtaining the water permits for the golf course.

I have no idea of the affect this will have on other projects they had or were involved with in the area

Thumbs up dolores golf

Hi Lee, yes one can only hope, if nothing else it will buy us some extra time,i feel sorry also for the poor people that have invested in other San Jose property that looks like now it will never be finished. Many people on other discussion forums have put down huge ammounts of money on property that they have been waiting years. But i shed no tears for San Jose whose greed hopefully has finally caught up with them !!:

So I take it San Jose are the builders who were behind the golf course and have now gone?

The above was confirmed in a news paper article over the weekend.

The builders in question have now applied for stoppage of payments through the Spanish court system.

This enables them to try and gain financial backing so they do not loose everything along with the investors.

The same news paper article stated that the planned golf course will still go ahead.
Either by the original builder completing it or by another party being involved and taking over the project

Looks like the golf course in Dolores will not happen.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but all those who posted get notified of any news bits added.

One or two might be happy knowing their houses could be saved
