Hello all, my first post here i am loking at buying a spanish registered car for a holiday home i have near alicante nothing to flashy or expensive just to save on hiring cars when i go out. I have found one in england thats not expensive and it is spanish registered but has no itv, i have heard it is hard to get it transfered into your name when you do not live there if anyone can shed any light on what i would need to do i would be grateful.

Regards chewie

HI chewie
As long as you sign on the padron and you get yourself an NIE numberyou should not have any problems. Also you must et a copy of the registered owners passport and a sales contract. The reason your post caught my eye was that I have a small car for salel it is in Elche at the moment. You can see it on this site, it is a 2005 Suzuki Alto which I am prepared to let go for E3000, but it might be too expensive to have sitting around most of the year. You will have to get an ITV as it is impossible to transfer a car to your name without at least 60 days ITV
Cheers Jon
