So this Spaniard has the cheek to ask me to break their firearms laws but his mate won't even sell me an airgun ? That sums Spain up for me - they think we all dropped off a Xmas tree, which I certainly didn't.
One shop in Valencia I didn't even get properly through the door of. As soon as the owner saw me he started waving his ams around like a Thunderbirds puppet and ushered me out. What a cock. Typical Spaniard as well, about 5 feet tall, wearing crimplene old man trousers and a cardigan which looked like he stole it off a tramp. The drains were broken near the shop doorway so the place smelled like a sewer. Typical Spain again.
And before anyone suggests I have an attitude problem, I was all smiles, politeness and doing my best to converse in their language ( for what good it did ) |
El Sid,
I can relate to your experiences !!! most armeria owners are tossers.....forget about the 'Armeria Espanola' shops in Madrid...they treat you like you have leprosey..!!!
Even my Spanish wife was amazed at their lack of politeness and indifference....I guess it's because Hunting is a sport for the rich here and if you dont have your Christian Dior designer cod peice on they dont take you seriously !!!!
I've seen from other posts here that indicate you're a bike afficianado...were you wearing your Hells Angels (Brum Chapter) denim jacket on ?? Probably would do the trick !!! I know its a 'wank' ...but I always wear a nice shirt pants & shoes when I go to the armerias here....the Spanish are big on appearances ....."when in ROME .......'
I've done the rounds of Madrid & Salamanca Armerias and the 'Pro Shop Armeria in Madrid were the most helpful......(the boss speaks english too)
Surely Lee or some of the other bodgies on this forum know of a few civilised Armerias down your way......
On another subject why buy here ??? (why give the buggers the benefit of your hard earned cash!) .....its cheaper to buy quality (ie: UK & German) air pistols/rifles in the UK and bring em over.....
Ok Gamo's, Noricas & Cometas are cheaper ...but thats all......
....BA give you a free sporting equipment allowance......
Easyjet will just charge you for an extra bag/box and you can stuff a few shotin irons in there !!!
