Norica are a Spanish airgun manufacturer and produce air rifles to meet most peoples budgets
The above air rifle is the Norica Marvic Style
For a company which is hardly known outside of Spain for their airguns, they produce a good choice in styles. The build quality of the Norica air rifles is of a very good quality. Which is surprising when you do not normally get such a good build quality on air rifles for the prices they cost from other manufacturers

Anyone entering the sport can not go wrong with either a gamo or norica airgun as an entry level gun. These guns will easily out shoot the shooter for many years

Technical specifications
Weight (Kg) 3,57 Calibre (mm) 4,5Long.Total (mm) 1175Long.Caρon (mm) 484 Velocidad (m/s) 305
laminate wood stock, nickel barrel, fibre optic sights and kicks out about 18ft/lbs

Gamo Maxima Express air shotgun
As with most of my airguns I like to own the unusual and since I live in Spain, there is no point living here and not owning an air rifle or two made in Spain.
The gamo maxima express falls into this category. Unfortunately you can not see the top side of the barrel in this picture.
The air rifle has the look of a shot gun, even down to the single sight on the end of the barrel

What makes this air rifle so different from the others is that it not only fires traditional air pellets but also air powered shot gun cartridges
Each cartridges has a load of twenty bird shot sized balls
At ten meters you get a good six inch spread
A pack of 25 shot shells costs about 6euro
With the supplied air pellet adaptor, you can use it as a normal airgun
If your shooting the shot shells there is no need to have a scope fitted.
If you miss a target with this rifle, its definitely time to take up a new hobby

In any other country than Spain, it would make an idea tool for dispatching vermin at close range, rats, mice etc
Unfortunately in Spain killing of any vermin is not permitted by law.
So I can not legally recommend this air shotgun for vermin and pest control
But if I needed a tool for dispatching vermin in a confined area, ie garden or garage area, this would be the ideal one
It would also be handy for shooting the two legged vermin that rob our houses.

The other bonus to owning this shotgun is you do not need a licence or fire arms certificate

The Gamo Maxima Express is the wood stocked version of the Gamo Viper Express. The Gamo Viper Express is the same air shotgun but with a synthetic stock and is a few euros cheaper to buy

Technical Specifications
· Cartuchos de aire comprimido y balines calibre 5,5
· Peso (weight): 3,1 kg (6,83 lb)
· Longitud (length): 117 cm
· Velocidad inicial (pellet speed): 220 m/s

Rohm Twin Master Top Air Pistol
The rohm twin master top is an underrated target pistol in my own opinion
Its a good well balanced precharged air pistol, giving about 100 shots to a charge of air
The air pistol can be shot either single or double action with a single shot adaptor supplied along with a couple of eight shot magazines
Coming standard with a regulator, each shot is of consistent power
But on the down side, the power of the pistol is only about 3ft/lbs

Air Arms S200 Target air rifle
This is one of the best entry level precharged single shot air rifles in my own opinion
The two differences between this and the standard s200 is the adjustable target stock and the air cylinder with built in pressure gauge.
Mine is a back up air rifle to my main target rifle.

Since this picture was taken, the air cylinder has been replaced with a standard s200 one. After loosing faith in the cylinder when the plastic cover on the air gauge flew off whist I was filling it and having the lens cap coming into close contact with my face

Technical specifications
Shots per Charge 40 Shots in .177
Weight 3kg 6.6lbs
Length Adjustable 87.2cm-92.8cm 34.3inches-36.5inches

Nice collection Lee. I particularly like the Yellowboy. I quite fancy one of those firing black powder cartridges (or the repro Henry - drool!).
Also, could you tell me whether the Gamo express has a rifled barrel or not as I have heard they don't. If this is so, how do they get on when firing pellets.
Cheers,
Martin.

The yellow boy was made by Uberti who make the black powder versions
If you compare it to some of the CO2 versions on the market, they do feel like plastic toys IMO.
I remember having a go of one at a club I used to shoot at in the UK and the build quality did just not feel the same.

Pity the UK press are so biased towards guns and make the whole shooting community seem like lepers.

Because of them the Brococks are now illegal to sell or transfer in the UK and another great gun maker is forced to an uncertain future.
For anyone who does not know, the Brococks were the airguns that the UK press were doing a campaign to get banned. the reason being they were easily converted to fire live rounds. What they never mentioned was the price and conversion costs. Plus if you knew someone who would convert one to live fire and supply live rounds, you would also know someone who would sell you the real thing at half the price and would not have the risk of loosing a few fingers if the gun exploded.

Then again they have been telling people about global warming which is now being proved to be total and utter garbage. And there are no immigration problems.

Sorry rant over

The Gamo express according to their web site is smooth bore, but if you look down the barrel you can see slight rifling.

I'm not a springer shooter as such, its more for novelty value on my part. With the shot shells I can hit a target at 10m
One of the guys down at Zurgena had a go, who loves shooting springers and was getting fairly decent groups with it at 10m

Thanks,
I could see the value of the Express in its air shotgun form but was rather less convinced about the pellet firing side of things.
Let's not get onto UK gun laws as I can feel my my blood starting to boil already. I've been living here for a fair few years now but even so, when I think of what's happening to our country it breaks my heart.

If you decide to go for one, go for the wood stock version and not the plastic stock. The balance difference is totally different. Plastic stock felt front heavy

I don't know if its because we are such a minority that we are such an easy target for bad press, but I used to attend a lot of all weekend competitions in the UK.

You could turn up. Pitch your tent. Leave your car unlocked, rifles un attended and I never once heard of one single theft at any competition I attended. Even when the wimp side in me ended up using a caravan, again leave it open all weekend and not a problem. You had more chance of someone force feeding you another burger from a barbie or forcing another brew down your neck.

Compare that to other types of gathering and would you have the same trust in total strangers.

Have you had any luck finding an air gun club of any shape or form in the area?

I paid a brief visit to the Levantina Asociaciσn de Field Target early last year when they were holding a shoot at the Gorriσn Club in Tangel, as I bought the Hunter 890 off one of the guys in the club (it's also where I had a go with the Cometa). They had some nice kit amongst them, including prosports, Hw97ks, Steyr pcp's, Daystate's, etc. In fact the guy I bought the Hunter off let me shoot his HW100 thumbhole stock pcp (very nice) and I told him that I would be in touch, however, at the moment I'm very stuck for time as I have three small boys and my better half often has to work at weekends, so I have not bothered a great deal so far as I don't want to get involved in comp type shooting (yet), hopefully in the autumn I will have more time to dedicate to my hobby, although to be honest, my real interest with air guns has always leant more towards the dreaded 'H' word.
