Hi everybody

Just wanted to introduce myself. I've lived near the Cabo de Gata for the last 8 years and in the process of buying a Gamo maxima .22 air rifle for target shooting! Haven't shot for 20 years but would like to get into it again! Anybody out there know where the ranges are in this neck of the wood? (That's an open invitation to big up your club BTW) How about a few google earth grid refs!
Anyway, I look forward to shooting against some of you in the near future!
Take care and don't get washed away in the rain....LOL

If I was you bro I'd forget about Gamo's and buy a decent British or German air rifle.......and thats coming from an aussie so thats a 'big up' for British engineering ....

Gamo's are ok for mucking around....(i have one) or 'informal' target shooting......but they are 'diamonds in the rough' and unless you really want to tune it ....ie change the trigger to a GRT 111, get a good spring and grease it up properly.....you're better off with a rifle that will shoot OK 'out of the box'......

The airlines let you bring air rifles over no problems and all the good brands BSA, Weirauch Webly, Air Arms etc etc are cheaper in the UK .....

...ok Gamos, Noricas & cometas are cheaper here ..naturally ....but why buy a 'Seat' when you can drive a Merc or Rolls.....

Hello Ozzie, Thanks for the advice! Depending on how my eyesight holds up to the shooting with the Gamo will determine if I get a merc or not so all is not lost! I'll let you know how the thing shoots though!

Mr Brain (are you an ex- thunderbird ?

wont you 'scope' the air rifle ??

If you persist with the Gamos...

A tip...Gamos have a notoriusly bad trigger ....you can order a 'drop in' replacement from the states called a GRT 111 about $25- 30 US...I have one...improves it a lot.....

when you have time Google the 'New Zealand Airgun Forum' there is a wealth of info on that site....

I'll post you the site for the 'Charlie da Tuna' trigger when I get a chance...

good shootin !

Cheers ozzie, I'll have a butchers at the GRT 111! Is it a simple change over or do I need to mod it a bit do you know?
I feel like a Thunderbird I'm the morning....A bit stiff in the back and a glazed over look on my face!

I heard you lot prefer the older mercs coz they is easier to nick.

Nothing like reminding a bloody fosters drinker about his country's routes

There are some UK shops send airguns over to Spain. Even though they cant sell mail order in the UK, they can sell mail order outside of the UK.

One or two good online stores in Spain

Armería Arminse - Armas desactivadas, armas de coleccionista, militar, cuchillería

Armerias Fiol, Mallorca,armas militares,pistolas,carabinas,material policia,municion metalica,rifles

suministrosayala-ARMAS AIRE COMP. CORTAS

ARMERIA SERMA SPORTS

Carabinas y Pistolas - Carabinas y Pistolas .com Gamo Norica Bsa y Cometa

You can get semi autos in Spain as well. Draaaaaaaawl
