As a keen rifle/pistol shooter from Oz but now living in Spain I wanted to buy a low/medium priced spring air rifle here for a bit of plinking practice and maybe take back to Oz for bunnies in the future......I was looking at a Gamo Shadow RSV in .22 as I think it comes with a detachable moderator (1/2 UNF ?) and basic scope & mounts. I heard the package scope/mounts are pretty rough... but as I have another scope with AO and one piece mount from the UK I'll use the package scope on a rough old .22 air rifle someone gave me....

Is the RSV a good choice ? I've read its basically a re-badged BSA Lightning (is this correct ?)....

The Cometa Fenix 400 also has its fans ......I read somewhere its a RWS model renamed is this correct ? Does this model have a detachable moderator ? If I take either back I'll have to lose the moderator as these are banned in OZ...over there air rifles are also registered & you need a firearms license...which i have....but on the up side there are no power restrictions......

any advice would be appreciated

Contact Nige about the cometa, I believe he is a fan of their airguns and most things spring powered

I'm still tied up trouble shooting the server move at present, trying to make things all work again properly

There are a few airgunners in Spain and I mean a few.
How many clubs have you heard of over here?
How many Brits, Ozies, Kiwi's, sheep shaggers etc do you ever hear asking questions about airguns on forums that are in English aimed at Spanish airgun law, finding clubs etc etc

I have been running this forum now for about two years or more in a hope of finding others out there. Niges club seems to be the epicentre of airguns for Brits in Spain.

Im constantly working on promoting the forum, helping it get found more on the search engines etc as well. We have two web sites dedicated to airguns and shooting in Spain aimed directly at this section
Airguns In Spain. Every thing you need to know about air guns in Spain and Shooting Spain.Spanish gun laws, laws on guns in Spain

The main problem now is encouraging people to post.
Catch 22. People will not post if they think they are the only active member or you see the same one person reply to every post. Without new content or growing content, the forum will come to a stail mate

But after two years, Im not giving up and not intending to give up on the forum. Believe it or not Im working on the forum in one way or another about thirty+ hours a week
