There's a limit of 1000 per year for my 22LR, per rifle. But you can buy as much as you like at the range. Shotgun cartridges - no limit. I think the limit is 100 per pistol, but again you buy it at the range.

Reloading?! Getting hold of the powder is next to impossible according to my gun shop.

I wanted to get my Sig in 40 S&W but getting the ammo is a special order so you cannot really get it at the range so you'd be limited to 100 shots per year unless you plan/pay way in advance.

The big question now must be, do you dress in camo when shooting those nasty evil vermin melons

Sid has a certain love for tin chicken shooters like myself and the use of camo for stalking them

So you can own a shotgun and not need any cabinet, but you can not do your own reloading or the supplies needed are close on imposable to buy

I give up asking how and why some things are the way they are over here

Yeah, when I was in the UK I tried to join a pistol club at North Allerton (if I remember correctly) but as I had a 629 44 magnum and in a shoulder holster at that I got some really pissy looks from nearly all the other members, as they had 22 target pistols, took 5 minutes to fire one round and had a postmortem on every hole punched.

I could see the writing on the wall so to speak. So, to give the squares something to talk about for the next ten years, I got out the full power, dirty powder cartridges with the 240 grain bullets and destroyed the paper targets, not hard when they shot at only 15m and my bullets were key-holing at that distance. And to finish off I shot out the wooden target posts as well (paid for them after of course like a gentleman). Cos of the dirty powder etc no-one could stand next to me due to lateral powder burn. Some folks thought it was also a bit of a hoot but needless to say 2 days later I got the 'phone call telling me not to bother coming back as 'your gun is to noisy'!

oh yes,
i know the picture to well, after the ban, me and another club member went to steve senns thornlands range to do our practical shotgun safety and ro courses(paid for by ourselves but worth every penny).
i then introduced ps to our sad old members. this was great fun and made the club MONEY all was lovely until some shot hit a tin roof, horror of horrors,
i was hauled before my fellow commitee members to be told what a naughty young man i am.
i told them to poke there archaic club up ther collective arses and waltzed of into the distance with my head held high, i had been trying to keep shooting hadnt i.
they shoot bows and f______-- arrows now.
thats the way to show the government were not beaten isnt it
