I'm currently a UK Registered Firearms Dealer and FAC holder, but I suspect that won't cut me any slack.

hola sid,
getting a license is not as hard as people make out.
if you have an english shotgun cert you can go to the guardia and fill out a hundred different forms and pay a hundred different small fees i did this and got my cert after about three months.
the BEST way is to join a federation affiliated club, i also did this , they will help you with youre centerfire pistol license.
you can put a small rifle on a s/gun cert, and you can pretty much get a blackpowder pistol cert by just applying .
i was at my club in malaga last week and the new must have is a beretta
9mm polymer assault rifle, not sure what cert they go on but you can bet youre life gordon brown and co would be a bit twitchy about them!!!
hope this helps,
keep in touch , mookman

Nice one, cheers. I've got a compound bow to keep me going until I can get everything I need for 'caza major' but I haven't a clue how to shoot it

Pleeeeeese could I ask for some help, after covering just about every corner of the Internet, I am basically so confused about how I obtain my Spanish Shotgun Certificate, so could some kind hearted soul help ...

I currently have two 12ga shotguns, I have a UK Shotgun Certificate as well as a UK FAC also, although I have sold my Firearms I still own my 2 Shotguns and want very much to continue shooting in Spain, i have read rumours about various courses, medical exams, written tests and exams, all of which are in Spanish, (which I am totally useless at!) and the criminal record check, (apart from a daft juvinile offence some 28 years ago I'm all clear) As soon as I give up my residence in the UK, my certificates will be cancelled as I have moved permanently to Spain, therefore no EFP. So please could I ask for some advice and direction.. Many thanks

Thanks for the welcome.. really some great info placed here for all to read:Copy of cheer2:

Read through the forum as suggested and still cant find any info relating to the question about obtaining a Spanish shotgun Cert if you already have a UK one, Mookman has mentioned that if you already hold a UK SG cert, then its a simple case of paying some fees and getting your Spanish licence in a matter of 3 months or so, without the training courses ans exams etc,
so I was wondering if anyone could shed any more light on that subject??

I believe there is a way of obtaining your shottie license if you join a clay shooting club. A guy showed me an idiots guide to doing it, which the club he shot at had prepared.

But I can not remember the details of how to do it unfortunately

hi joshua,
if you hold a uk s/g license, you can just transfer it . get a gestor who speaks english and explain the situation, i just went to my local guardia civil.(who handle firearms) and got an application form, this is just the start though.
as for criminal records unless you belong to ETA dont worry, they aint interested in you.
if this is to daunting, then JOIN A CLUB, all clubs here have someone who will do (for a small fee) the relevant paperwork. my club, clubs, have there own dedicated office staff who do just this so they can flog you over priced firearms.
hold on to youre english cert and youre efp, explain the situation to youre issuing office that you need it for the transfer, if they say no keep it anyway, i did ,all they did was phone me up and i said for me to be legal in this country i needed a vaid cert.
you should declare the guns to the guardia at youre point of entering spain,
airport or dock, they will rubber stamp some paper to show there in spain.
say youre on holiday for a year!! and nominate a club where they are being stored.
it seems there are no hard a fast rules, everybody has done it a different way, some people have just smuggled them, a bit short term in my opinion ,but hey, whatever works for you, good luck , mookman
