Innocentes Day on Friday 28th December was one of those days when the skies were a beautiful pale blue and the sun shone which is why most people love it here.* Traditionally the day is ?fools day? where anything can happen and Club Torrevieja decided it was a day to have fun and do silly things.*Members assembled on a large empty car park in Redovan to hold a competition of silly games in the car. Among the events were an egg and spoon race, tossing the oranges in a bucket, spearing a ring while the car was moving (similar to the knights of old) and stopping on a sixpence. Everyone soon began to get sillier and sillier and ?Innocente, Innocente? was heard as people were caught out with tricks and the Innocente man appeared on people?s clothes and some people with more than one. The Redovan Television recorded the whole thing and Derek the President gave an interview with the help of Ann who translated it so that the people of Redovan could capture it all the next day.*With comments that their stomach?s were complaining of lack of food and as the games came to an end the Club retired to Emy?s Cafeteria, who had sponsored the day, for a much welcomed sustenance.* It was time to present the prizes to the winners which were 50/ 50 between the British and German contingent. Outstanding was young Brandon, the Club Mascot, who sat on his father?s lap to win the Slalom event in a MX5 Sports car.* Also Lisa, driving a member?s Red Mercedes for the first time won the ladies prize.* Ulrich won the star raffle prize and the banter between members after showed how enjoyable the day was. Two members came from near Mazarron to attend and another had just broken his toe but neither were doubted by distance or pain to enjoy the day.* Two visitors having read about the Fools Day of the Club came along and so enjoyed themselves that they joined there and then and pledged to bring a Classic Car with them next time they come to this area!*To show that the Club is still young in heart if not body, in January the Club is travelling to Guadix Racing Circuit in Murcia to drive on the track with the option of driving a Ginneta Racing Car for 5 laps with an experienced instructor giving advice and taking times.* Then at the end of January the members are involved in a Treasure Hunt.*
