Pedro Sazberro, a hang gliding instructor from Yesa died yesterday afternoon after crashing in a mountainous area near Lumbier (Navarra).
His fellow passenger and pupil survived the crash, but suffered serious and extensive bruising and is recovering in Navarra Hospital.
Owing to the inaccessibility of the crash site, two mountain rescue helicopters were deployed in the search and rescue operation.
The incident occurred at around 2.45pm yesterday afternoon and the alarm seems to have been raised by both the young man who survived as well as Mr Sazberro's colleagues.
