Eric A LucasA very good turn out for members on Friday at Roda, being this time of the year members are busy with Christmas and going back to see family in the UK. 29 came to play a two ball better ball, the course was again looking in excellent condition, the ground staff work very hard all around us some times a bit off putting with the cutter motors going while attempting to set up. The weather was kind to us again lovely sunshine really good for this time of the year, but I hear it may change this week end.Thanks to Julie and Denise at Gogarty's, who came in early to provide our members with a super breakfast, to start the day off.Results of the day were: 1st with 45 points Trevor Brown and Denis MaCormack, 2nd with 44 points James Brown and Maurice Flint.N/T/P'S No 2 nobody hit the green, No 7 Martin Cougar, No 11 Trevor Brown, No 13 Denis MaCormack. There were no two's winners this will be passed onto our next game.Important notice Captains change over is now booked for Benidorm, staying at the Venus Hotel. Coach pick up at Consum car park on Friday 23rd April, at 13-00, Saturday 24th golf, first tee 12-30, Sunday 25th golf first tee 13-30. Monday 26th 11-00 picks up coach back to La Zenia. First 28 members with 50e per person deposit confirms your booking. Partners are welcome on this trip. Please contact Society Captain Derek Bowen who is taking deposits. For cost details ring Derek, Maurice or Eric.We have now started a society knock out competition, the draw as taken place and you need to check your opponent. The first name drawn out is responsible for contacting the other player and arranging the game. Details of the draw are in Gogarty's. All first round results to be in by 14th January 2010. Dates for your diary Thursday 17th December, at Roda first tee 12-10, meet at Gogarty's 10-30. Bring a small prize for our member's lucky dip, and don't forget your Santa hat.
