Last Sunday the Torrevieja Model Boat Club took part in a competition for Model Tugs hosted by The Model Boat Club of Saint Vicente Del Respeig, north of Alicante.* Representatives of Santa Pola, Alicante and the host club look part in the competition.* The competition consisted of the Model Tug leaving the Model Port (superbly built by the Saint Vicente Members) picking up a cargo of logs and returning them to the ?port.?Although the sun was beaming down, the wind across the lake made maneuvering the models extremely difficult and many competitors did not finish the course. The winner came from the Santa Pola Club, second was a member of Alicante Club and a Torrevieja member, Mel Burt took third prize. After the prize giving, Saint Vicente Del Respeig provided tapas and drinks for all the participants and guests. Torrevieja Club has now been in existence for a little over a year, but never seems to come away from competitions or exhibitions empty handed.
