Our report for the week ending 15th August starts with a reminder of the friendly trips on Saturdays which start at 9.30 for 10 am.* Its great fun and good bowling practice.On Sunday the succulent chicken was won by Mick Boon with 25 points. Terry Hubble, who had won the chicken the week before, went home with the egg cup!On Tuesday our Premier Twenty was a battle against Emerald Isle Rubies, which proved to be a tough encounter.Bob White, after a very good start, wilted towards the end and lost the singles. More haggis needed!David Whitworth, Keith Lowry had a rare loss, and came second!The trips of Pat Malden, John Malden, Ian Ross together with the rinks of Sue Ross, Steve Bodenham, Carol Lowry, Derek Cooper, came up against strong opposition and yielded!The away team trips of Margaret Roseveare, Frank Barclay, Steve Manley had a good win 24-13. Well played the trips.Mal Hughes lost on the last end 21-22John Goldspink, Sonny Cavanaugh narrowly lostChris Brooks, Roy Brooks, John Featherstone, Barry Roseveare lost the Rinks.Overall Points SL 2 EI 14
