Playing golf can add years to your life say Swedish researchers. But it’s not so much how you swing the club, but how much walking you do.
In a study of roughly 300,000 Swedish golfers, researchers found that the death rateamong golfers was 40 per cent lower than the rest of the Swedish population. An averageof seven kilometres every 18-hole round is enough to add 5 years onto your life expectancy.
So the answer to living longer is to dump the buggy and take the trolley instead.A nice stroll around the course whilst chatting to your mates is just the ticket toa longer and healthier lifestyle.
It’s a fact; golfers live longer than everybody else. The lower the handicap, thelonger you live.
Hear hear (except the kite boards bit).
