Eaton Fluid Connectors Division located in Madrid has an opening for a commodity manager.
Responsibilities:
· Analyse commodity market and related raw materials. Include the analysis results into
the sourcing strategy and communicate to local SCM Managers and SCM community in an
appropriate way (monthly reports, during SCT meetings, etc).
· Actively search and identification of potential new suppliers for the Division. Use of
different tools/ways for this purpose, such as internet quoting events, networking with
different trading companies/associations, networking with local SCM organisations, local
corporate SRM representatives or any other organizations within EATON.
· Identify and communicate to the DivisionalAdvanced Supplier Development Manager (ASD
Mgr) potential strategic supplier to the Division. Develop (commercially) those suppliers
jointly with the ASD Mgr.
· Where required and when beneficial for EATON, set up Long Terms Agreements with
individual Suppliers. Identify criteria to describe benefits to EATON. LTAs will need
approval from FCD SCM Mgr.
· Negotiate payment terms for the shared suppliers of that commodity by plant.
· Set up a sourcing strategy, which has to include minimum the following criteria:
- Reduction of number of suppliers.
- Yearly cost reduction agreements or targets considering landed costs.
- Best payment terms to the business.
- Sourcing from LCC.
- Delivery through consignment warehouse.
- Quality & On Time Delivery targets (jointly to be set and reviewed with the
Divisional ASD Mgr).
· With the support of the Division SCM Manager, agree with local SCM representatives to
the designed commodity sourcing strategy.
· Lead, coordinate and follow up re-sourcing activities with local SCMs and if necessary
with the Divisional ASD Mgr. Motivate and find consensus with local SCM leaders to
resource business on time according to previously defined and agreed sourcing strategy.
· Development jointly with Divisional R&D department and Divisional ASD Mgr, new suppliers
for new technologies (materials, coatings, components).
· Lead price negotiations with shared suppliers and communicate results of any price
negotiations to Divisional SCM Mgr. and SCM community.
· Support Plant Purchasing activities during project development and production launch.
· Participate when required in PPAP/ProLaunch activities and be responsible for strategic
actions together with plant SCM leader.
· Support plants together with the Divisional ASD Mgr in Supplier Quality and Delivery
issues, only in critical situations.
· Report on a monthly basis business metrics to the Divisional SCM Mgr. (cost out, LCC
spend, DPO, supplier reduction, inflation,…)
· Lead/participate in Workshops at Supplier sites when required.
· Lead supplier days activities when required.
· Accountable for achieving annual Divisional goals
· Ensuring suppliers are fully engaged with EATON Ethics, Values and Philosophy. Work
according to EATON SCM policies and deploy EATON SCM policies within the supplier base.
· Work across the Division to align and consolidate supplier agreements, prices, payment
terms, delivery conditions, etc..
· Support the Divisional SCM Mgr. in Profit Planning.

Job Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with global sourcing.
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain processes
- Successful implementation of inventory strategies (Cash Management, Vendor Managed Inventory
(VMI), Kanban, (Just In Time (JIT), Consignment Stock, etc)
- Proven experience leading cost-out initiatives
- Proven ability to lead supplier improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of demand planning and logistic processes
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Resource Plan (MRP) systems
- Basic Accounts Receivable knowledge
- Projects management
- Understanding of Lean principles
- Problem Solving Capability
- Proven ability to drive functional excellence
- 3 - 5 years of supply chain experience
- B.S. in Engineering, Business, Management, Supply Chain or related field
- Preferred qualifications :- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma [1213265408][1241584] |
