If you can see the TV stream on the website ....then it will work fine....
BBC works between 200 and 400 kbps ..... with a automatic variable stream adjustment....the program on there is at 240 kbps. I regularly watch at 385kbps.
So all except sky seems to work under speeds of 500 kbps.
Re Telefonica I understand that come September they are losing their monopoly.
We have some customers in Tenerife and a company there will be offering nationwide in Spain ADSL up to 3mb for most urban areas as well as phones.
Their website name is direct-telecom<dot>es think it will give telefonica something to think about.Scoot did you try the website?

Lee ....just saw your post .....
Yes I agree .... was a bit strange watching tv on a laptop .... so we bought a 25 euro connector ..... and ran it through our tv ..... now we have a wireless connection (no cables) between laptop and our new 32" lcd screen ....
We are in a Spanish speaking country with lots of urban areas ....slower internet speeds ..... and a monopoly telephone company (as was) ..... sound familiar ...... I'm in Panama ..... sound like the same problems as you live with.
The thing I like about the TV in UK on the internet is the ability to to watch it when I want .....no need to record it for later or wait in to see it ....different time difference.... Its TV on demand .... and as i said to Scoot and SAT man
it works between 200 and 400kbps .... so there may be a future market in Spain.... so far we have happy customers ....
Regards

Well roll on September and thanks for the info.

When I've got more than a few minutes to put together at a time I'll take a peek. But I've just bought a Sky HD box so I'm hooked up.

i am just a sceptic of some pay streaming services as i know of people who tried other uk tv streaming services like liveuk.tv, they paid up and after a few weeks they were closed down. if i have to i use zatoo - great for spanish tv if your reception with an aerial is bad, or for uk tv with a uk proxy....

my understanding is that a so called 1.45 dish will get you the key channels most of the time, but a 1.8 would greatly improve reception, especially in the winter when those heavy "gota fria" clouds are about...

If you have broadband then its possible to download all the TV and films you could ever want using torrent sites. Mininova and Piratebay are the best.

I don't miss UK telly when I'm here - the BBC is lefty liberal propaganda and ITV's just a load of crap.
