Hiya, decided to sell my small business and home in UK and come to Spain. !!. I am trying to read as much as these pages as I can!. Not sure when im comeing, where Im coming too or even what business I intend to do when Im there!. I know I will open a shop, thats about it!. I also know I sound dizzy and have not thought this through! but been thinking about it for years, just waiting for right time to move and I dont believe in planning everything down to the last detail as you will only be dissapointed when it all goes pearshaped!. So I know I will think of a million questions, I thought I would start with just the one!. I fell out with My bank in UK and closed my account. When I move to Spain, I will open a spanish account (From what I have read, seams fairly straight forward). Now, once I am there, in my hand I will have an English sterling cheque?. Can I just pay it straight into my spanish account?. Do they convert this to euro's, is it that simple??. I look forward to chatting with everyone, hope this is not a silly question? If it is, Im sure there is more to come!!. lol

Gawd help Spain by the sounds of it

To open a Spanish bank account you only need your passport as proof of ID

You will get charged for paying a cheque into the account. You will need to ask the bank how much the fees will be.

But they do quite happily accept cheques
