We have used this complaints book before and found it to be very useful.

We bought a hands free kit from a highstreet mobile phone shop (Spanish) and after two months the battery failed to charge.

We took it back and was told that they didnt have anymore in stock as it was discontinued and they would have to send it off to be repaired which would take two weeks.

Months later we still had not recieved it back despite many visits and phone calls. and on the last visit which we told the guy we refused to leave the store until we were given a refund as a valid reciept was provided. Apparently this was not an option.

But eventually we asked for the complaint book as nothing was going to be sorted and included the member of staffs name.

We left the store and went for a coffee and before we had finished it we had a phone call saying that if we came back to the store a refund will be made.

We were then told that the refund would come directly from the member of staffs pocket (dont believe that for a minute) and the only condition was that we tore up and removed the complaint.

And from what I have been told if 3 complaints are investigated and found to be legitimate depending on the problem the member of staff can be sacked or at the worst the shop can loose there license to trade hence why its is such a powerful method.

Just don't go there again!

I like Iceland in Mijas - great shop - always pleased to see me (yeah?! ME, can you believe it!).

Very friendly, VERY efficient (never had to wait long to check out) a breath of fresh air I can tell you.

Actually, you can use a "hoja de reclamación", but what really works here, is not to go there again and also, telling about your experience to the people you know, not recommending it. That really works!
