Default Streetfood business

Hi guys

First post on here so i hope you can help me!?!

My partner and i are relocating to Costa Blanca in Feb 09, i run a business in the Uk that can easily be controlled whilst i'm living in Spain.

My partner is interested in setting up a streetfood stall in perhaps Denia where we are looking to settle. She has her food hygene certs etc.
She wants to operate a stall that makes fajita types of wraps with choices of chicken, beef, shrimp or vege which will sell for €2-€3 each.
To do this she'll need a gas bbq, a few chairs and tables etc. and find a spot along the seas front near tourests.

Does anyone have any ideas on how we can obtain permits, will there be rejections by the local councils and generally which route we need to follow?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Matt

to be legal she'd need to get permits from the Ayuntamiento I'm sure - and also do the food hygiene certificates here (in spanish of course)

not sure about Denia, but the only 'stalls' selling food in Javea are the Chiringuitos in the summer - and the spots are highly sought/fought after and very expensive to acquire - and the odd coffee & churro stand in the market

Cheers for that. We know we will have to get the permits etc.

Interesting what you said about the pitches being rare, sought after and expensive. Do you think that we would perhaps be able to set up a deal with a shop in a certain area and use their outside area to do this?

possibly
from what I understand the shop itself would have to have a permit too - though I suppose you could apply for that yourselves

again - they are not just 'rubber stamped'

a friend who has a bar waited 2 years before she was granted a permit to have a couple of chairs & tables outside

this was a few years ago, so the rules may well have changed - they seem to change weekly sometimes
