Smile Intro and Freesat

Hi Everyone,

I am first of all writing to introduce myself and say what a cracking forum this is.

My hubby and I live in the UK but we have family in various parts of Spain including Costa Blanca and Madrid. We have heard all about the problems with TV reception that have been going on (My Dad is going mad!) but may be able to help in the future if anyone is interested......

Here in the UK, we are Authorised Retailers for Freesat (we are aerial and satellite installers for our sins) so are in a position to provide Freesat HD and SD boxes if anyone is looking at Freesat as an option once they get their dish problems resolved.

If anyone would like more info or prices etc then please give me a shout!

Daft question, can you sell the sky freesat cards?

Being a UK company and based in the Uk (need to cover our arses here) If you was able to sell the cards to Spain, how much would they cost, hypothetically

What sort of prices would you sell freesat boxes for to those in Spain?

If you could also include the cost of post and packing in the hypothetical quotes.

Hi,

Hypothetically the cards are tricky even for us as they are sent out direct to customers and the Freesat ones are always in short supply.

In the case of the freesat boxes the Standard Definition ones would be about '59 GBP' with '10GBP' postage and stuff (about 88 in your money for the lot for the SD).

The Humax HD one is about '100' dearer but reports indicate that it is a better performer, plus if you've got a HD TV you can take advantage of the HD programming which is fab! and I would just need to check the postage as they are a lot more weighty.

If I hypothetically had a free to air card, and wanted some other channels, like UK TV Gold, Dave and that sort of thing, how would I go about it?

I have a 1.3 m dish, which I will upgrade if required, and a Pace box, but no UK address. I have no desire to pay £10 pe month extra so what should I do?

Thanks

Default UK TV Gold and Dave

Hi,

You are going to struggle trying to get UKTV Gold and Dave. UKTV Gold is only available via subscription through Sky or with a subscription through Top Up TV which only works via aerials here in the UK.

The same is similar with Dave, we can get it here for free via Freeview (aerial again) and the only other service that provides this channel is subscription to Sky.

We are keeping our eye on the BBC Freesat who although there are not as many channels as Freesat from Sky, what is there is decent stuff and targeted at the UK viewer, will keep everyone posted as we get channel updates.

Sorry I could not be more positive!
