Top guy, walking encyclopedia of all things satellite television related.
He has been giving free advice about satellite television on the forums for a long time and gets no financial gain from any of it, due to his own business being just outside the main affected area.

If anyone else has had good dealings with another satellite television company on the Costa Blanca, please add their details.

Its about time we had a feel good thread on here

For information: Spoke with Digital Satellite Systems (today) and they don't do community installations.

Lee, re your post on recommended sat installers...

You said you had personally used Digital Satalite Systems and that they advertise in the papers. Well are they acutally called Sky Digital Satalite Systems? And do they ususally take a full page ad in the Costa Blanca News?

If yes, I called them today and asked them a few questions. They do have a showroom but it is in Benidorm, they only have a phone number for Torrevieja, which concerns me a little.

Could you confirm if this is the same Co or ?

Cheers!

Thats the guys we used. Dont be put off by where their show room is.
They are the main importers for the Portuguese dishes. One of the reasons they have a better supply than most of them.

Jon has referred to them as DSS on here several times which has thrown me in the past.

If your an ex telmicro customer, do you know you can get free TV at present?

Anyone who uses BroadBand Costa Blanca SL, please clarify whether you can watch the TV programmes using a normal flat screen TV or have they got to be watched using the laptop?

BroadBand Costa Blanca SL do proper satellite dish installs.

The problem at present, is there are long ques of people wanting to have satellite television installed after one company that had over 60,000 customers, which did rebroadcasting of British television programs got shut down by the Guradia Civil.

A quick search on the forum for "Telmicro" will give more idea of what happened to them and all the fun, games and rumours that circulated around their demise.

I would like to recommend MAGNET TV of Villamartin, they installed a 1.5 dish for me on the side of my house and it works perfectly.
The installers were efficient, and careful, although they had to return the next day to do some fine tuning, (It was dark when they finished installing on Wednesday last week), the guys turned up on Thursday afternoon to do the fine tuning, got it done and now i can receive UK tv legally with no problem.
I get ITV till about 11.30pm and BBC 1 till at least the same time, (usually in bed by 11.00pm) so this is very good for us.
We are in the Cabo Roig area, and we are very happy with our installation.

After getting very confused and nervous with all the "Expert" TV installation companies out there now, we have just taken the plunge with AAfreeenglsihtv. We had a full dish system installed after being with Telmicro and i must say these guys knew what they were talking about, the fine tuning took a little while but now have all uK channels without the threat of being cut off! I thought their prices were more competitive too after getting other quotes.

Their website is below which is where i contacted them

Good morning. This is my first posting, so pardon my ignorance if I show any - and if I'm in the wrong forum. I was a telmicro customer, and am now - for the moment - a Simulsat registered customer, using the same coship box and aerial, with a good signal (other than BBC2 disappearing around midnight) Simulsat have duly debited the end-January first payment of €19.99. I have been informed by a neighbour that a friend of his can install either a 1.2m or a 1.4m (he's not sure which) dish on my house (probably on an upstairs shed roof or upstairs sun patio for €450 complete, which will pick up 400 - 600 (?) channels including all the ITVs, BBCs, RTE, etc. God knows what the other hundreds of channels are. Is this realistic (I don't have a name for the installer at the moment, he's due to pop out next Monday). Any advice appreciated. Thanks. Great forum, by the way, very informative.
