At the moment Kas, I would hang onto your money and wait it out if your not in the position to go down the satellite dish route.

We all know I spend too much time on line, all day every day working on various web sites and keeping track of whats been going on.

Several things seem a bit iffy about the reason TM have gone to court.

If its tax evasion, why did all the others remove the sky sports etc last time.

In the next day or two, there should be some answers coming out, if not by Friday the press should have some decisive answers.

As for torresat, you get good and bad reports mainly about their customer service.

One being a free upgrade that the customers have to pay for.

Their so called underhand customer gaining techniques are only similar to those that TM used to gain their customers earlier this year.

And if TM are going down, they will do their best to take the others with them. If what I have been told is true about their six months of evidence gathering.

This was posted on another forum by someone caught out by one of the 20 channel specials

Quote:
Dear forum,

I have been watching the entries for the past few weeks without making an entry to see how the TV broadcasting debate is going.

I wish to tell you my story since my last update :
We paid € 210 to Telmicro for another years service in July, more fool us !.
I had happily/smuggly watched Telmicro with SKY Sports, Setanta sports channels knowing that in the UK you had to pay a premium price for them. Do I feel guilty for that time, I guess not.
To be honest I was shocked they were there and available for nothing. I have read some forum colleagues who found this "option of stealing" a payback when the story of Telmicro went "public".
Remember, I paid the subscription in good faith !. Someone else took the risk, welcome to human ugly life.
Since the "disconnection" of Telmicro, we paid another € 350/400 to a company as describedUKTV Free View ( Costa Blanca Times or RTN )
"SUMMER CRAZY DEAL" No Monthly Payments
Full Warranty & Aftersales Service
20 Channels €395 Including; BBC1,BBC2, ITV 1&2, Cartoons, Channel4, Movies 1&2, Setanta Sports, Sky Sports 1,2,3, RTE 1&2, Sky News, UK Gold, Channel 5, Discovery, Sky One, UK Living, TCM and XXL? dont know what this is, never got it !. However they advertised a 30 channel and 68 channel service but they were not offered, why ? we are stupid, because the
channels in these packages were being scrambled as the service wasself-imploding. Of the 20 channels we had we have 10 left and there is a message on channel one the all will be scrambled shortly. €395 for 3 weeks viewing is pretty expensive. I called John from the advert on 693 353 574 for a full refund as advertised by the Hotbird satellite admin people but thus far no reply. Am i naive ! Not, not gonna here from them again. If I do I will let you
know as they have credibility.
Check my previous entries, I ask again, especially from some of the forum colleague namesi recognise , this is how it will work only;
1) Contact ITV and all connected channels
2) Contact BBC and all connected channels
3) Contacted SKY
4) Contact Setanta

Questions: How much to subscribe to each and every channel
Questions: Can me cherry pick the channels per cost/per month
Questions: Can they quarantee broadcast if they receive payment (Satellite etc)
Questions: How much for box/dish maintenance and repair
Questions: How many people on the Costa want UK TV
Calc: Divide the quote by the number of people and offer the monthly charge
This is a basic calulation offering.
So, 1) Question to the forum RE: UKTV Free View (Any Experience)
2) Check my previous forum entries , Legal TV, Credible TV , Reliable TV, UK TV !
Looks like these guys have caught onto the easiness of finding new people by advertising in the local papers

yes totally agree with you Lee, these con merchants are irresponsible people, makes me wonder how they sleep at nights?

This UK TV freeview company had a half page advert in the Coastrider yesterday, what i don't understand is these companies maybe legal in themselves, but what they are selling is illegal, why does the press accept adverts from them, the press should put a stop to all these adverts that advertise these illegal services, then hopefully not so many expats would get conned by these rip off artists.

I noticed that advert as well. Brightly coloured to make it stand out more and catch your eye.

So far I have found one or two people trying to track that type of company down on the internet after losing one or ten channels of their package.

It makes you wonder just how many they have conned

I've had enough of telemicro/east/freetv/torresat people trying to con me so I've bought a freeview box from carrefours and plugged it into my spanish arial.
I get 30 channels for free, my spanish is improving and if the program or Movie that is showing is originally in English on a few of the channels you can change the language back to english.

I've also been looking into the spanish digital + and that is the same but with a lot more channels and a lot of programs that are broadcast in english and spanish, ok it's more expensive than your torretelemicroeastsat guys, and you're not going to get your eastenders and the likes but them arsehole rebroadcast companies aren't getting the money

damn i'm good.

last week (thursday i think!) bbc prime changed from its hacked 2.5 version of encryption to 2.6 version. meaning lots of people who were watching bbc prime without a bbc prime subscription card now do not have bbc prime.

i shall be giving my crystal ball a good polishing for giving me that bit of info a month ago.....

No publicly playing with your balls on this forum, or Sid gets unleashed on you

Did we ever mention the guy that batted for the other side, Sid banned once. He sent a queer message to me after

When I looked into the unlocking of TV channels, Astra 2 broadcasts seemed pretty well locked up.

the NDS encryption that Sky uses is pretty safe - rumour has it that they have at least one version ready to be deployed to sky receivers should the current version be "made available"

Its not the only one going!! Digi TV 1w and Premiere Germany 19e are the next two to go over to Nagra3 any time now!

BBC Prime was part of the TPS package, which started disappearing months ago! it was crap as well, repeat after repeat!!

Im never going to complain about losing channels off my Technomate receiver, if it opens, it opens, if it doesnt then so be it!! There are plenty of FTA non entity TV channels around!

the MBC channels on 26e are decent!
