Are considering one of the holidays to Spain? If you are, you want to make a list of items that you will want to go see. There are many fiestas that you may want to take place in as well, so that you can make the most of your Spain holidays. Here are a few events that are not to miss:

1. Sanfermines

If you have researched Spain, then you have probably heard about the Running of the Bulls. This takes place in Pamplona and begins on July 7th each year. Spanish men take place in this event while wearing a traditional white shirt with a red sash, while trying to outrun the bulls that have been loosed behind them. Other events that are much like this one include ones held in Sanguesa that is held September 11th to 17th, Tudela that is held July 24th to 28th, Tafalla that is held August 20th to 25th, and Estella that is held the first Saturday in August.

2. Feria de Abril

If you want to see some authentic flamenco dancing, then you will not want to miss this fiesta that is held in Seville. This event used to be a cattle market, but it has changed over the years into a flamenco fiesta. You can find Tapas and can enjoy wine tastings in the evenings. This event is not to be missed.

3. Semana Santa

This event is normally held during Easter week and it is a long-standing event from the 16th century. This was created to show the Passion of the Christ to the people and now travelers to Spain enjoy watching this beautiful, significant event.

4. Las Fallas de San José

In Spain, this is the springtime Valencia celebration. During the event, you will be able to see the cardboard constructions that were made over 10 days burned down on the last day of the festival. Fireworks, flamenco dancing, and bullfights are a normal occurrence as well.

5. Ceremonia del Tributo de las tres Vacas

This is translated the “Three Cow Tribute Ceremony.” The roots of this event date back to 1375 and it includes the town’s dignitaries dressing up in gowns of medieval times. This is a tribute that dates back to when three cows were given to the Piedra San Martin people by the people of the Baretous valley.

6. Day of Inmaculada

Seville is the home of this event. It is held around the statue of the Virgin Immaculada and brings together fraternities from every part of Spain who sing the traditional songs. On December 7th, the next morning, a dance is help by children who are dressed from medieval times.

If you are interested in any of these events, then you will want to make sure that you make reservations that will allow you to join in. It will be a fun way to see how the Spanish people fiesta!

I always have a heard time trying to explaining in words what Fallas is. It's huge and is honestly effecting the city all year around.

The days from March 15th to the 19th are surely the most important ones but also love everything starting on the last day of Sunday in February.

Here just some keywords a Fallas newbie should know about:

Many more pictures and videos about Fallas: What is Fallas

I'm so excited for Fallas 2010. Who else will be here?
